Village of Floral Park Recognition of Employees

Richard Albertson-35 years of service

In 1982, Rich became a full time laborer in the Dept. of Public Works after worming part-time as a summer employee. He continued to advance within the department and is currently the General Supervisor reporting directly to the Superintendent.

Rich has lived in the Village since 1967. He and his wife Phyllis currently live on Marshall Ave with their teenage children Sarah and Richie.

Rich loves music and enjoys playing in a jazz band and blues band, and spending time with his family.

He continues to work in a professional manner and has proven to be a great asset to the Department of Public Works and the resident s of Floral Park.

Thomas Mack-35 years of service 

Tommy was hired part-time in October of 1982 and split his time between the Park and the Library. Since 1987, he has been a full-time laborer at the Recreation Center where he as various duties, including preparation of the tennis courts for morning activities, preparation and set up of meeting rooms, and janitorial duties. Tommy is also responsible for the proper distribution of recreational equipment to resident,s as well as assisting other recreation employees when necessary.

He was born and raised in Floral Park, and has lived on King St. his entire life. He has three brothers and one sister and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is a very active volunteer in the Village. he serves as an usher at Our Lady of Victory and is a member of the Floral Park Knights of Columbus, just to name a few. Tommy enjoys going to Broadway shows, visiting merchants in town and friends at Ciro’s Restaurant. He also loves to visit his extended family in upstate New York.  Tommy’s willingness to help has made him a valued employee to the Recreation Department, and we congratulate him on a job well done!

Thomas Asfar-25 years of service 

In September 1992, Tommy was hired as a laborer in the Highway Department. As the driver of the street sweeper, he is currently the person who helps keep the streets of our Village clean.

Tommy has been married to his wife Lori for 23 years and they have two sons, Tommy 19, and Steven 17.

Spending time with his sons is important to him and he is active in the Boy Scouts of America, specifically Troop 55.

He enjoys being with his family and sampling delicious meals at local restaurants.
