A minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal law enforcement, which must include at least five (5) years in a command level position.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Safety Management or related field.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Safety Management or related field. (Not a minimum requirement, but highly desired.)
Other combination of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may substitute the education pre-requisites.
Graduation from a nationally recognized executive development command-training program (i.e., FBI National Academy, LEA Management College, or equivalent executive level training). Not a minimum requirement, but highly desired.
