As July turns to August, residents of all ages continue to enjoy a variety of events and activities at the Floral Park Recreation Center, and there are several more coming up that you won’t want to miss!

Noteworthy upcoming events and updates include:

The Floral Park Pirates continue their winning ways under the tutelage of Pool Director, Tom Dillon, as they have taken care of business against the likes of Williston Park, Stewart Manor and Mineola. The full remaining schedule can be found at fpvillage.org

The Floral Park Pool will be holding the final Resident’s Day on Sunday, August 7th. Also be sure to look out for the Top Your Own Sundae event on Friday, August 12th at 6:00pm (while supplies last), and Grandparents’ Day on Sunday, August 14th. NOTICE: On Saturday, August 13th, the pool will be closing at 5:00pm for the Floral Park Fire Department picnic.

At the park, the Arts & Crafts program has been providing lots of exciting activities for the children. Over the final few weeks, the kids will have the chance to make watercolor suncatchers, pom-pom picture frames, sailboats, jellyfish hats, tie-dye, and more! In the Morning Sports program, girls’ volleyball and boys’ soccer will begin on August 8th and run through August 18th.

Finally, the league leaders of the adult evening sports leagues as of 8/02/22 are: the Summer Slammers in men’s volleyball, That’s What She Set in competitive women’s volleyball, the Smashin Schmarkins in intermediate women’s volleyball, Some Spike It Hot and Spikeaholics in recreational women’s volleyball, Sharknado and J-Macs Powerwashing in men’s basketball (under 30), and Sportify in men’s basketball (over 30).
